Non-Discrimination Policy

PURPOSE

- To ensure patient privacy and facilitate compliance with HIPAA

- To ensure that all patients and visitors of MiMedico are treated with equality and in a nondiscriminatory manner, consistent with applicable state and federal law.

POLICY STATEMENT

- All patients shall be treated with respect and equality and in a manner which is free from discrimination based on ability to pay, because payment for those services would be made under Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIP, or based upon the individual’s race, age, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or any other basis.

- Any person who believes that they have been subjected to discrimination which is not permitted by this policy shall be encouraged to file a complaint with MiMedico.

- No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay; there is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income.
